“UNSCUPULOUS THIEVES”: THE LAST KART OF JULES BIANCHI, WHO DIED IN 2015, HAS BEEN STOLEN

On social media, Philippe Bianchi, father of Jules Bianchi, lamented the theft of his son’s last go-kart, who died following a Formula 1 accident in 2015.

“It’s the sentimental value that hurts us.” Philippe Bianchi, father of Jules Bianchi, who died in 2015 following a Formula 1 accident at the Japanese Grand Prix, posted an angry and despairing message on social media, revealing that he had been the victim of a burglary.

“Last night (Monday night into Tuesday, editor’s note), we were burgled and the unscrupulous thieves made off with nine JB17 Forever chassis. Even worse, they stole Jules’ last kart, a KZ 125 ART GP model, plus my grandsons’ mini karts,” said Philippe Bianchi. “Apart from the value of the machines, it’s the sentimental value that hurts us.”

Jules Bianchi’s father launches an appeal

The father of the former Formula 1 driver is taking this opportunity to launch an appeal to “his karting family.” “Please let me know if you see any JB17 karts in circulation,” he says.

Jules Bianchi was involved in a terrible accident while driving his Marussia at Suzuka (Japan) on October 5, 2014, and died in July 2015 after spending several months in a coma. In heavy rain and on a wet track, Bianchi lost control of his car in a corner. His car crashed violently into a crane that was removing another car.
