On July 17, 2015, Jules Bianchi passed away at the age of 25, after nine months in a coma following his accident at the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka on October 5, 2014. This French driver, a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy and at the wheel of the Marussia, was then on his way to making Formula 1 history. In the pouring rain caused by typhoon Phanfone, Bianchi lost control of his single-seater. He collided with a tow truck that had come to recover Adrian Sutil’s Sauber, resulting in a violent impact that left him with a serious brain injury. The accident marked the first fatality in an F1 race since Ayrton Senna in 1994. The shockwave was immediate and profound, both in the sport and among fans. Ten years after his tragic death, the Automobile Club de Monaco paid tribute to him.
