Good news: recently stolen, the old kart driven by the late Jules Bianchi has already been found!

This news will warm the hearts of many enthusiasts: a few days after reporting it stolen, Philippe Bianchi has found the kart that his son used to drive in competition.

JULES BIANCHI’S STOLEN KART: IMMENSE SENTIMENTAL VALUE

Last week, the father of the former F1 driver, who died in 2015 following a tragic accident at Suzuka during the previous season’s Japanese Grand Prix, caused shock and anger among the motorsport and karting community in France and beyond when he revealed that his home had been burgled.
The thieves made off with a large haul of nine karts and a mini motorcycle. Beyond their material value, one of the chassis had tremendous sentimental value as it had belonged to the late Jules Bianchi.
“Dear friends, tonight I am addressing my karting family. Last night we were burgled and the unscrupulous thieves made off with nine JB17 Forever chassis,” Philippe Bianchi posted on his Facebook page.

Even worse, they stole Jules’ last kart, a KZ 125 ART GP model, as well as my grandsons’ mini-karts. Aside from the value of the machines, it’s the sentimental value that hurts us. If you see any JB17 karts around, please let me know. Thank you in advance.”

JULES BIANCHI’S STOLEN KART: SOME INITIAL GOOD NEWS!

A few days after the incident, he announced some initial good news on social media: Jules’ kart had been found! “It is with immense joy that I can confirm that Jules’ kart has been found,” he wrote on Instagram.
This is a huge relief for our whole family. A huge thank you to everyone who shared the news on social media, to the media who relayed the information, and to the Brignoles police for their efforts.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone for making this possible. We still have a few karts and a mini-motorcycle to find, but thanks to all of you, I am hopeful. Forever Jules.”
For several years now, Bianchi’s father has remained active in the racing world, particularly in karting, where he organizes a trophy in tribute to his son who died too young. In 2024, the 42-hour (!) competition was won by a team led by a certain Charles Leclerc. As a reminder, the Scuderia Ferrari driver is a close friend of the Bianchi family, as Jules took him under his wing when he was starting out in karting.
