Jules Bianchi is the last Formula 1 driver to lose his life after an accident during competition.

As May 1 marks the sad anniversary of Ayrton Senna's death during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, Formula 1 has recorded 34 other fatal accidents.
The latest was Jules Bianchi, in 2014.

Note that eight drivers died during the Indianapolis 500, between 1953 and 1959.
During this period, this competition was integrated into the Formula 1 world championship.
