F1: Jules Bianchi’s last kart stolen in burglary

The father of Jules Bianchi, the F1 driver who died in 2015, has announced that he was the victim of a burglary and that his son’s last kart was stolen. He is appealing to the thieves.

The father of Jules Bianchi, the Formula 1 driver from Nice who died in 2015, he was the victim of a burglary last week in a garage at the family home in Val (Var), and is appealing to the thieves who stole his son’s last go-kart, as well as others belonging to his grandchildren and their mini-motorbike.

“You’ll never be able to use it”

“You didn’t get the wrong door… you got the wrong life,” he wrote on Facebook. “What you took is not just equipment. It has almost no market value, and for one obvious reason: you will never be able to use it. It is identified, traceable, and unusable on a karting track.” He then reminded everyone that it was the kart belonging to his son, a close friend of Pierre Gasly, who remained in a coma for nine months after a serious accident during the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix.

A “very, very emotional” side

“But above all, it belonged to Jules Bianchi. A man, a driver, a karting enthusiast. A name that all fans know, respect, and still carry in their hearts. Jules left such a strong impression that even a five-year-old child knows his story, his courage, his humanity,” Jules Bianchi, also interviewed by Ici, continues. He admits that “it’s quite difficult” to live with. Because “it’s not the burglary itself, that happens to everyone, but there’s this very, very emotional and sentimental side to it that makes you want to get those items back.” Will he be heard?
